Advent is a season of preparation and waiting. The term advent is from the Latin translation of "coming."

We are taking part in Advent as a way to slow down so that we can focus our hearts on celebrating the promised coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. We come to look both back and forward as we recount the fulfilled promise in Jesus' amazing first coming (for which the world waited thousands of years) and the promise of His second coming (which the Church has been greatly anticipating for thousands of years). And to know how all of this makes a major difference in our lives right now.

We will be looking at the amazing thread of salvation that runs from Genesis 3 all the way to the cross and beyond as we see how faithful our Lord is in keeping His promises of hope, peace, joy, and love.
